I have always loved drawing from an early age. At high-school, I would sketch witty comics about day-to-day situations that proved very popular amongst my classmates. Next came computers, which captured my imagination with the endless creative possibilities technology provided. I eventually studied a Bachelor's degree in IT and developed a career as a backend programmer.
I have worked as a programmer and web developer for over ten years in various roles and on several personal projects. I believe that good design and performance is crucial to the success of any project. I am proficient in the technical aspects such as database and language coding, but I also possess a good eye of what works well visually in terms of colour, composition, contrast and positioning.
Studying the Diploma of Graphic Design at RMIT, Melbourne, was the natural progression in my career development. It provided me with a more thorough and integrated understanding of website and app design and development. Becoming a full-stack developer and designer is about finding the perfect balance between technical and artistic work, bringing together my two areas of interests into a polished, finished product.

Meneame is a popular Spanish social news website that allows its community of users to share and rate content on the internet. It is a mix between Reddit and Digg.

There have not been any significant changes in the Meneame.net website since its incorporation in 2005.The mobile website of Meneame is an unimaginative scaled down replica of the desktop webpage. It has a rather bland UX as it does not take into consideration user needs. Given the universality of mobile devices and mobile apps, I decided to build my own version of the Meneame app for the mobile. I wanted to create an app with a powerful visual impact and clean lines while respecting Meneame's essence.
Accessibility, adaptability and personalisation
Meneame the App follows the Mobile-first design, where the most essential and important features to the brought to the forefront. This results in a more intuitive and accessible experience. Contrary to the website, Meneame the App offers a wide range of basic controls, such as changing font size, backlight and options for controlling how information is displayed. This gives users more control of the UI itself.
How
Meneame the App has been developed using a cross-platform technology called Ionic. This means standard web technology is able to be used to build and ship sleek hybrid and Progressive Web Apps. The web languages used in Meneame are mainly Angular, Typescript, Html and Sass. For the backend, I used the open source API provided by the web to connect to the server in order to provide content.

Cosmic Turtle
Inspired by the World Turtle myth.The mythologies from several cultures tell of a giant turtle bearing the world on her back, slowly swimming through the universe. In my own version, a tired turtle is crawling ashore bearing a small world on her shell. There is a lighthouse on the top to guide her. She is digging a nest to lay eggs that will hatch into more turtles bearing more worlds. The turtle is the primal Mother Universe..

It is essential in the rapidly changing technological field to remain to remain up-to-date, proactive and relevant. I have mastered several programming languages - PHP, javascript, CSS, Mysql, Angular - and I am also proficient in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. I constanly looking for new challenges and ways to improve my skills. More recently, I also started to explore and have fun with Adobe Animate CC.
